The same in Russian

I am a programmer. This doesn't say too much, but it's probably the most important thing I can say about myself. I have started programming in 1987 on DWK-2 (Russian PDP-11 clone), and almost everything I have done since that time was somehow related to computers. Sometimes this relation is not obvious though, so my life is more natural than it may seem.

I worked with different systems: PDP-11, VAX, PC, Mac, Sun Sparc, IBM RS/6000 and others. My work has included alamost every kind of programming/hacking from assembler programming on the boxes without operating systems to class libraries for C++ under UNIX. I've used various networks even before Internet has grown to its current size, and I wrote a Fidonet-compatible mailer (MailPump) and this FTP/HTTP daemon. I like some operating systems (most of UNIX'es) and dislike some operating systems (MS-DOS 6.x). Some systems disgust me (bright example: MS-Windows aka Windoze aka MeSsyWindoze -- please, don't speak to me about it, I'm already sick of damn thing at work).

I haven't mentioned yet, that I'm Russian (actually, I'm from Gomel, which is now in Belarus Republic, although I don't care what names politicians assign to the place - they are all morons anyway). Now I live in San Mateo (California, USA), working as a programmer. Some people may remember that I have started the first BBS in Gomel (Crawfish BBS, it exists now at +7-0232-531828 phone, 2:452/1), I was 2:452/0 (NC2:452 in Fidonet).
